So I called my best friend at about 9 pm when I got off work to keep her on the phone just in case something happened to me and I start walking home. Well, I get to an intersection where I have to wait for the cross walk to change and two African American guys walk up behind me and are talking about a cell phone. I crossed the street and was still rambling on to my friend when I start crossing the mall parking lot. Mind you, I've done this so many times before, the parking lot is well lit and supposedly under good surveillance, anyway. They were still following me and then the next thing I know, one of them has taken my cell phone and then I feel pressure on my bag and grab it. The dude with my cell phone stops running and starts pacing, then guy number two turns and tell me to give him my bag, I told him no, then he told me to give him my bag again, shoved a hand down into his sweater pocket, and threatened me that things would get serious if I didn't hand it over, I said no again and that I didn't have any money (I was terrified he was going to stab me at this point though I didn't know if he had a weapon) and he told me I had better have had something. Again I said I didn't have anything and he started pacing and his friend (the one with my cell phone) said he didn't want anything to do with this and then put my phone down, his friend ran up with him and they tore off toward the apartments.
Well I snatched up my phone and called the police immediately and they sprung into actions, I was in hysterics.
Long story short. There were people who worked for sears outside smoking that did nothing to help me. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help me despite the fact I was yelling at the guys to not take my bag and crying hysterically while trying to talk to the police on the phone.
So the cops actually get there and they ask me what happened, I told them, my ear started hurting and so did my arm, and I was still crying, but they picked up two suspects soon after my call, and they were the ones who did it ( was proud that I had positively identified one of them). So the bad guys were caught, the cops were all patient, nice, and truly eager to help, and the employee's of the Sears at the mall are insensitive pricks.
To wrap this up, it's actually the morning after now, I hurt, just everything hurts.
Thank you for the Fav =3
